Planning, Planning, and More Planning

There is no doubt that planning our trip to India means doing a ton of research.  While having lunch the other day I mentioned to Mike that Tripadvisor is my friend.  While I have now nailed down the first couple of weeks of travel.....I am struggling with the next leg of the trip.

I am unsure if I want to fly further south from Goa, or take the train.  Taking the train conjures up images of high speed travel through rice paddies and small villages.  Small children waving at the train as it passes their town.  Friendly cabin porters waking you from a light sleep to remind you that your stop is next.

It is the images of people hanging out from, on top of, and being rammed inside the train that worry me.

This seems rather civilized...almost like one of those standing tickets that you could purchase at Maple Leaf Gardens.

This on the other hand seems down right stuffy.

This is just down right obnoxious.  Similar to elevators, you have to always take into account the amount of overhead that is available.  I just don't know the height of the overpasses, or would it be underpasses, and I have to draw the line on the amount of research that I do.  While Sue is game for most things.....I'd have trouble talking her into hopping aboard this one.

Talk again soon.....
